People can file a general diary or GD in any case other than those requiring filing of Criminal Case or FIR like lost and found, any incident, petty nature offences etc. No fees are required for filing a GD.
To record a GD, an applicant must submit a written application to the concerned Police Station where the incident took place. A GD can be recorded only to the concered thana where the incident takes place.
